New child development campaign from Parent Club
Early Years Scotland has partnered again with Parent Club to tell you about their new Child Development campaign. The campaign highlights specific interactions that parents and carers can easily incorporate into their everyday routine (without adding more pressure to their day) to help boost their child’s speech, language and communication skills.
The campaign aims to encourage parents/carers to actively listen and then respond to their child by using ‘serve and return’ techniques such as asking questions about the characters in a book when you’re reading with your child or chatting about what and how to cook tea. These simple interactions will help stimulate neuron connections that form in their child’s brain, helping to develop their speech, language and communication skills.
