Early Years Manager (Pitcorthie Playgroup)

We are a friendly community playgroup, which has been established for more than 40 years, in the John Marshall Centre in Dunfermline. We are open in school term time, with our outdoor woods session on a Monday between 9:15-12:30 and indoor sessions in the centre Tuesday – Friday 9.15 – 12.15, or 9.00 – 2.00, with the opportunity for hybrid/flexible working.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years manager to support and lead our friendly team and work alongside our parent committee. Our ideal candidate will be:

  • child-focused
  • caring and enthusiastic
  • able to lead the team to ensure that the children are supported and encouraged to play in a safe, nurturing and developmental environment
  • registered, or eligible to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

We know that playgroup is often the first experience of being away from family, and so we are committed to making it a positive experience for everyone.

Ideally we are looking for qualified applicants with a BA in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 9, or equivalent qualification. We will, however, consider applications from candidates with at least two years’ experience working in a similar Early Years setting, and who would be willing to gain the relevant qualifications required to meet SSSC requirements for an Early Years Manager; study support will be considered if required..
