The Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland published a draft version of the new shared inspection framework and has consulted the early years sector for feedback.

Early Years Scotland (EYS) has responded to the consultation on behalf our members in conjunction with our Chair of the Board, Dr Marion Burns. We also shared additional areas for consideration including some possible solutions that we feel require to be taken into account before proceeding any further with this process.

Overall, EYS believes that the draft inspection framework needs to be carefully reconsidered and the process for implementation paused until further work has been undertaken, and all feedback from stakeholders has been carefully reviewed.
