Our Impact: November 2022 - May 2023
Our latest impact report, covering the period from November 2022 to May 2023 has been produced in the form of four short films focusing on the key strands of our work. You can watch the films below.
Working Directly with Young Children and their Families
Five of the team discuss the very different ways in which we have been supporting children and families both in the community and in HMP Barlinnie. Making connections with others as well as within your family is at the heart of what we do and is vital to help support wellbeing for everyone.
Membership and Support for ELC Settings, Professionals, and Students
Playgroups are a vital part of the ELC landscape. Watch the video clip to hear one of our playgroup members talk about their work and how they support the community. Listening to feedback from surveys, emails, helpline, and support visits are key to hearing our members’ needs. We are working on new benefits for our members – listen to Eliza, Membership and Business Support Manager, outline some of our new member benefits.
Professional Learning Academy
This quarter, the PL team have been busy working with practitioners from Dumfries & Galloway, Fife and Argyll & Bute, supporting staff working with our very youngest children. ‘Birth to Three Matters!’, a three part virtual professional learning session, has been very positively received by participants and has given those that took part the opportunity to refresh and consolidate their knowledge of the crucial importance of the first three years.
Policy, Practice and Legislation: Advice and Advocacy
The importance of engagement, with our children and families, and our members, is the focus of this short chat with Lorna, Policy and Engagement Manager. She also outlines some of the policy consultations we have been involved in over the last 6 months.
