EYS Family Visitor Centre Volunteer (HMP Low Moss)
Volunteer
Early Years Scotland Family Visitor Centre
HMP Low Moss, 190 Crosshill Road, Glasgow G64 2QB
What this role entails
The Family Visitor Centre is a place for families and friends to relax before their visit and to access independent and impartial advice and information to support prisoners’ families.
We have created and introduced a Tea Bar area in the Family Centre, where families can enjoy a free hot cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit, helping them to unwind after their long journey. We have also created a private space where families can speak with EYS staff regarding any concerns or issues that might arise during their visit. Our staff within the Centre have experience working with children and families and are available to assist visitors with any query they might have regarding prison procedures.
We have also created a safe play area for children where they have toys, books, and a creative play area where EYS staff deliver a range of activities.
