Chief Executive, Jane Brumpton, shared Early Years Scotland’s concerns over the impact of COVID lockdowns on young children’s language and communication development in a front page news story in the Sunday Post.
The story reported on a survey of nursery nurses by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists which reveals almost 90% have seen a rise in the number of young children struggling to talk or understand basic language since the start of the pandemic.
Early Years Scotland is currently working in partnership with the Scottish Government to address the concerns.
