Early Years Scotland Chief Executive, Jean Carwood-Edwards, is among the speakers at a forthcoming conference focusing on the findings and implications of the Commission on Widening Access.
The conference, ‘The journey to fairness: widening access to higher education’, will aim to help universities and others interested in widening access and social mobility to reflect on and act upon the findings of the Commission. It will consider the recommendations of the Commission’s report as well as looking beyond its findings.
Jean Carwood-Edwards was one of 11 Commissioners who collaborated with a range of partners and stakeholders gathering evidence and agreeing on recommendations to present to the government. A key recommendation of the Commission's report was that investment and intervention in the early years are vital in order to realise the First Minister's ambition that every baby born today will have the same chance of going to university irrespective of their background
The conference will be held in Edinburgh on Wednesday 15 June. Click here
