Early Years Scotland is backing the Scottish Government’s drive to recruit 11,000 Early Learning and Childcare workers with the launch of a new film and publication.
The film and the accompanying guide, ‘Early Learning and Childcare – a Rewarding Career’, were funded by Skills Development Scotland and feature contributions from a range of experienced workers who give an insight into working in the growing area of Early Learning and Childcare.
Both look at the many different roles in the sector - from working in playgroups and nurseries to working in further education or being part of a regulatory organisation like the Care Inspectorate.
Early Years Scotland Chief Executive, Jean Carwood-Edwards, said: “We are delighted to be launching the film and guide at the same time the Scottish Government is beginning its recruitment push.
“We hope that they complement the Government’s own campaign by highlighting the dedication needed and the many personal and professional rewards to be enjoyed through a career in Early Learning and Childcare.
“A key message for us is that there is a wide variety of jobs you can do in the sector – far more than people would commonly think of when considering Early Learning and Childcare as a career option.”
