All Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) providers will today (Monday 23 October) receive a letter from the Scottish Government regarding the Early Learning and Childcare Data Transformation Project.
As well as giving an update on the progress of the project, the letter will outline a number of important changes which will affect providers of funded ELC.
In particular, the Scottish Government is keen to capture a wider range of data from settings and will be developing guidance on this.
The letter also addresses the legal and data protection issues involved when collecting and sharing sensitive personal data.
Early Years Scotland is one of the key stakeholders involved in the project, alongside the Care Inspectorate, Scottish Social Services Council, Scottish Childminding Association, and local authorities.
