The children’s grant-giving organisation, Buttle UK, can provide a personal and fast response to families living in crisis through its Small Grants Programme.
This programme is designed to help ensure that children who are experiencing very difficult circumstances where their safety, health or development is at risk, still have their basic material needs met. Funding of up to £300 is available to provide essential items such as a bed to help a young person sleep; a washing machine so a child has clean clothes to wear to school; or a cooker to give them a hot meal.
Buttle UK is a charity which has directly supported children and young people for over 60 years and is proud to distribute grants through the BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme. It sees first-hand how these grants turn people’s lives around when they are at their most vulnerable, and know how much they are appreciated through receiving letters like this one:
“Thank you so, so much for buying my two boys a set of bunk beds and mattresses. Their faces were a picture as they have never had their own bed. I am so very grateful for you helping us as a family.”
